Figure 5-23 shows how to enable a cross-port analysis in Expert's Edit /

Preferences dialog. In a cross-port analysis, Expert ensures that each frame is

making its way across the switch, and reports frame losses and the latency

through the switch. In addition, Expert reports aborted sequences and

retransmitted FCoE, iSCSI, and TCP traffic. Expert reports all symptoms and

network anomalies indicating frame losses and performance degradation.

However, because the FCoE traffic has PFC enabled, the decrease in FCoE traffic

is a result of the pause frames sent by the switch to the storage device.

Figure 5-24 shows pause requests and pause releases sent only to the storage

port.
